The delicate balance of ecosystems that furnish the wide range of nature’s benefits from food and medicines to clean water and fresh air, is being adversely affected by climate change as plant and animal populations shift their ranges to adapt to warmer climates in order to survive.

To combat this major new threat to nature, CI is tracking these range shifts, helping bring about new protected areas and improved management of lands between parks and protected areas to allow for species movement, and working with global businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
